The start of the 2022 NFL season is just weeks away as teams are still trying to sort through their roster and figure out where they stand. NFL betting will heat up once the games actually begin, but there is a way to bet on the action well before the season starts.
Making a wager on the eventual Super Bowl champion is one of the best future bets you can make, especially if that team has decent odds. The New York Giants and New York Jets are teams that don’t have great odds to win the Super Bowl in 2022, making them big underdogs.
The New York Giants are currently listed at +8500 to win the Super Bowl, and the Jets are worse than that at +10000. It looks like it is going to be another long season for football fans in the New York/New Jersey area as both teams are going to struggle.
These future betting odds can change as the season moves along, but it would take a pretty big miracle for either team to get into the mix. There is some talent on the roster of both teams, but there are also some holes that need to be fixed.
The Favorites
While the Giants and Jets are near the bottom of the odds board in terms of winning the Super Bowl, there are some great teams at the top of the list. The Los Angeles Rams are the defending Super Bowl champions, but they aren’t considered one of the favorites in 2022.
That honor would belong to the Buffalo Bills as they are listed at +600 to win the Super Bowl in 2022, and that is a team that is loaded with talent. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are next on the list at +7500, followed by the Kansas City Chiefs at +1000.
NFC East is Wide Open
Winning a division title is the first step for both teams from New York, and the Giants have a chance to be competitive. The NFC East doesn’t appear to have a clear favorite to win the division title, and the
Giants could be a surprise contender.
New York is listed at +700 to win the NFC East, and the other three teams are ahead of them when looking at the odds. The Dallas Cowboys (+135) and the Philadelphia Eagles (+170) are expected to battle it out, but there is some hope for the Giants.
Jets In Wrong Division
If the Jets were to win the AFC East Division, then it would be a shock almost as big as them winning the Super Bowl. New York has odds set at +2000 to win the division title, which is well behind the other
three teams.
The Buffalo Bills are the clear betting favorites to win that division at -230, followed by the Miami Dolphins (+450) and the New England Patriots (+500). It wouldn’t be a shock to see the Jets pick up a divisional win along the way, but there are some great teams in the AFC East.
