The state of Pennsylvania has turned into one of the sports betting leaders in the US, and the market will be getting bigger sometime soon. MaximBet recently announced that it has been approved to launch in Pennsylvania, and it can also launch in Ohio when that state becomes available as well.
MaximBet still isn’t a big name in the US sports betting industry, but that could be changing over the next few months. This sportsbook was recently launched in Colorado prior to the start of the 2021 NFL season, and it is already available in the state of New Jersey.
It’s unclear how long it will be before the state of Ohio approves and launches sports betting, but MaximBet will be ready to go from day one. MaximBet also has the opportunity to offer online casino gaming in Pennsylvania, but they are not yet ready to take that step.
This company was founded just a few years ago in 2017, and it originally held a license in Malta. Like many other companies, MaximBet saw the growing US sports betting industry and attempted to get involved immediately.
Experience-Based Rewards Available
Not only will MaximBet offer rewards and promotions similar to other sportsbooks, but this company will offer experiences to its customers. Customers in Pennsylvania can currently sign up to win a trip to the Super Bowl in Los Angeles and attend a party that will be hosted by the sportsbook.
In the announcement of obtaining a sports betting license in these two states, MaximBet also noted that they would be rewarding customers with other experiences as opposed to free bets or site credits. These real-life experiences would be geared for special events in the states that they operate in.
MaximBet Taking Aggressive Approach
Not only is MaximBet targeting some of the biggest sports betting markets in the United States, but it also has its eye on the Midwest as well. According to the company, it intends to offer sports betting in both Indiana and Iowa, and that could happen by the end of 2021.
Launching at some point during the 2021 NFL season would give each company the best chance to be
successful, but there are still a number of steps that still need to happen. Both Indiana and Iowa offer both retail and online betting, and a mobile license is available through the partnership with Caesars.
Handle Sees Boom in Pennsylvania
There were several months in which Pennsylvania was the second-largest sports betting market in the United States. Even though it was in the second spot, it was still trailing the state of New Jersey by a wide margin.
There were a couple of months over the summer in which Pennsylvania saw a sharp decline in sports betting handle, but things are looking up once again. Sports betting handle in August was $348.5 million, which was an increase of more than 14 percent from July.
With the NFL getting started in the month of September, Pennsylvania is expected to see an even bigger jump over the next few months.
