This week the New York Giants and DraftKings formed a multi-year sports betting, iGaming, and Daily Fantasy partnership. DraftKings will be the official gaming partner of the Giants. The partnership will include DraftKings logos and signage at Giants home games along with featuring a DraftKings SportsLounge that will be open before and after games to accommodate Giants fans.
“The New York Giants have continued to be a fantastic organization to work with over the years, and we are excited to expand our relationship as the Giants’ Official Exclusive Sports Betting, iGaming and Daily Fantasy operator,” said Ezra Kucharz, DraftKings’ Chief Business Officer. “Both organizations remain committed to customer experience through enhanced product offerings and authenticity and look forward to joining forces across platforms as the highly-anticipated NFL season gets underway.”
DraftKings and the Giants have already been working together to form a partnership for years. DraftKings was a popular choice in the daily fantasy sports market when they started in the New York and New Jersey area eight years ago.
Now, they have grown into one of the largest sports betting operators in the U.S. and have a partnership with one of the largest NFL brands. The partnership will help DraftKings continue growing their partnership across the NFL brand, which had been the most popular sport to bet.
DraftKings will have premiere signage across MetLife Stadium during Giants home games. They will also have an exclusive sponsorship that will be advertised across all Giants’ social media platforms.
DraftKings will also have a SportsLounge at MetLife Stadium. The SportsLounge will allow Giants fans to interact with DraftKings and figure out what the best way is for them to use their betting app.
DraftKings has discovered that the Giants are among the top-40 most bet teams among 700 professional sports leagues. They are a public team in the largest U.S. market. DraftKings will be able to take advantage of the New York market along with the Giants fanbase.
Overall, this should be a great partnership for the Giants and DraftKings.
Sports Betting Partnerships and the NFL
The DraftKings partnership comes a day after FOX Bet and the Philadelphia Eagles formed its sports betting partnership.
More of these partnerships will continue to happen across the NFL as sports betting becomes more mainstream. There is a chance that a team like the Colts, Bears, or Jets to form a partnership like this before the year is over. The Denver Broncos had already made three sports betting partnerships when Colorado legalized the new industry in May.
The NFL also relaxed some of their sports betting rules this year to allow teams to take advantage of the opportunity. Before 2020, the NFL did not allow teams to partner with sports betting operators despite state legalizing sports betting.
Now, the NFL has changed its stance along with the league themselves have a sports betting partner. This growth will continue as the year goes on, and sportsbooks will try to do everything they can to form a partnership with the largest sport in the U.S.
